Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 September 2026This policy explains what personal data Yantrium collects when you use our website or contact us, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have. We handle personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1Who we are
Yantrium is a software studio based in Kent, United Kingdom. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Yantrium is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
You can contact us about privacy or your data at hello@yantrium.co.uk.
2The personal data we collect
We only collect what we need. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:
We do not ask for special-category data (such as health, ethnicity or political views), and you should not send it to us through the enquiry form.
3How we use your data, and our lawful basis
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal data. We rely on the following:
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss your needs — our legitimate interests in answering people who contact us, and/or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To provide and manage services you engage us for — performance of a contract with you.
- To run, secure and improve our website (including server logs) — our legitimate interests in keeping the site available, safe and working correctly.
- To meet legal or regulatory obligations — compliance with a legal obligation, where one applies.
We do not use your enquiry data for marketing, and we do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.
4Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors") who process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements:
We may also disclose personal data if required to do so by law, or to protect our rights, safety or property.
5International transfers
Our website hosting and email are provided within the UK/European Economic Area where possible. The Google Fonts service (see above) may involve a transfer of your IP address to servers outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum) as required by UK GDPR.
6How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it. Enquiry correspondence is generally kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless we go on to work together — in which case we keep the records needed for that relationship and for as long as required by law (for example, for tax or accounting). Server logs are kept for a short period for security and operational purposes and then deleted or overwritten.
7Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- be informed about how we use your data (this policy);
- request access to the personal data we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request erasure of your data ("right to be forgotten"), where applicable;
- request restriction of, or object to, our processing;
- request portability of data you provided to us; and
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@yantrium.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
8Cookies
Our website does not use tracking, advertising or analytics cookies, and does not require a cookie consent banner. For full details, see our Cookie Policy.
9How we protect your data
The website is served over encrypted HTTPS. Access to enquiry data and email is restricted to those who need it, and our systems are kept up to date. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.
10Children
Our website and services are aimed at businesses and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be reflected here.
12Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first at hello@yantrium.co.uk so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the UK regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint · helpline 0303 123 1113.
